NYAGATARE- A cooperative of health councillors in Nyagatare sector, Nyagatare District celebrated achievements attained in various fields.

According to several members, the cooperative distributed over 76 cows to members and constructed an office worth Rwf 4.5 million.

Theogene Rwamatahe, a member, thanked the government for inspiring citizens to work in cooperatives.

"With all these achievements we celebrate today…not one single person could do it alone. We thank the government that invested this idea in our minds,” he said.

Jean Claude Niyonsaba, the head of Cyabayaga health centre said that the achievements attained were mainly due to the commitment of the councillors.

"We sit down and discuss beyond our capacities and finally come to productive decisions. This is the only tool we use to achieve all this,” he said.

Claude Mushabe, Executive Secretary of Nyagatare sector hailed the health councillors for mobilizing residents to adopt government programmes including the health insurance scheme commonly known as Mutuelle de Sante.
