Byukusenge targets Anti-corruption title

Nathan Byukusenge will be targeting his second podium this year in the Anti-corruption cycling competition that starts this morning.

OVER 60 riders from nine local clubs are expected to take part in the 80km race that will see them racing round Kigali City twice.

"It has been a very good for me especially after finishing in fourth place in the tour of Rwanda and also winning the Ascension de Mille Collines. My confidence is high and I hope to win tomorrow (today)’s race,” the 31-year old told this paper yesterday.

Byukusenge will however, face stiff competition from youngsters like Joseph Bizareyermye, Hadi Janvier and the experienced duo of Obed Ruvogera and Gasore Hategeka.

The race is a prelude to the Anti-corruption week that runs from December 5-12th.

The winner of the one-day event will pocket Rwf0.3m while Rwf0.2m and Rwf0.1m has been staked for the first and second runner-up.
