You’ve seen celebrities donning them or the trendsetter guy at your workplace.

You wonder what this piece is all about. Well, if you didn’t know, Cardigans are the next best thing; they are increasingly becoming popular by the day. Their versatility as part of men’s wardrobe has contributed to the increase in the number of men picking cardigans rather than pullovers or sweaters.

Cardigans are great if you aren’t a coat or jacket kind of guy or if you are feeling more casual. The good news is that they come in so many colours and styles from slim fitting and modern to more traditional.

Way back, cardigans were mostly worn by old folk but nowadays are for all types of people. As a matter of fact, cardigans for men and for young men are becoming part of the trend in today’s fashion styles in the men’s world.

Like any other clothe, when buying a cardigan, care must be taken. One of the first things you must consider is the quality of the material. Look for durability, design and style.

Also try to get one that fits your body build too. Dark colours work best for men. Lighter colours might just be for the opposite sex and young people.

For a more formal style, try pairing your cardigan with some dress pants, or khakis, and a dress shirt. This is a classic style and can make your ensemble look fashionable, without appearing overly dressy.

If wanting to wear your cardigan in a more casual way, opt for jeans instead of dress pants. Make sure to use your slim-fitting jeans for this look; never wear baggy jeans with a cardigan, as it will destroy the entire polished look you are creating. Keep the fabrics of your clothes thinner, so that the layers do not appear too bulky.

Cardigans for men and women can be found in most Kigali shops today. A fine piece ranges between 15 -20 thousand francs.
