Sudan premier league club El Merreikh arrives in the country this afternoon ahead of their second leg Caf Confederations cup tie against Rayon Sports on Sunday at Nyamirambo stadium.
According to the local governing body, Ferwafa, El Merreikh arrives at midday aboard Ethiopian Airways.
Ferwafa Chief executive Officer Jules Kalisa told Times Sport yesterday that last year’s losing finalists are yet to be booked a hotel for their accommodation.
Meanwhile, Rayon Sports went into residential training on Monday to prepare for Sunday’s game, which they must win 4-0 if they’re going to progress to the group stage.
Talking to the blues head coach, Raoul Shungu yesterday, he said that his only worry lies in the attack.
The absence of influential striker Labama Bokota has left the DR Congo born coach uncomfortable ahead of the second leg tie.
"We know the task ahead of us but the players are prepared to stun them (El Merreikh) but we’re missing Bokota who is not with is in camp.
"Everyone is happy that at least (Kalisa) Kase is back with us. However, we still have a lot of work to do in the nest couple of days," Shungu admitted.
He added, "Come Sunday, we shall need everybody to back us and see if we can overturn the 0-3 deficit".
Rayon Sport will play the second leg without Aimable Rucogoza who was red carded in the first leg in Khartoum nine days ago.
If the blues manage to pull off a 3-0 victory, they would need a lottery of post-match spot kicks to advance to the next stage.
Leading 3-0 from the first leg, El Merreikh, last year’s beaten finalists in the same competition are hot favourites to progress to the next stage unless Rayon pull off a surprise 4-0 victory, which looks so unlikely, at least on paper.
