Rayon Sports captain Abdul Rwatubyaye has said that the club have not given up on league title hopes despite being six points behind the table leaders APR FC.

Rayon’s title hopes were dealt to a huge bow after dropping points in 4-2 defeat against Police on Saturday, at Muhanga Stadium. The club now sits third on the table with 46 points, six behind leaders APR.
With just six game left to decide the champions, the club’s chances of winning the title this season now hangs in balance.
Although Rwatubyaye admits that the title race looks pretty tight for the Blues, he insists that there is still a room to believe.
"Six points is a lot. But we are not giving up, nothing is decided yet,” the 25-year-old defender said.
"We started the season very well but we made some small mistakes which cost us some important points, but we planning to give it all in remaining games,” he added.

Rayon want to play Africa club football next season at all cost and it will all depend on how they will performance both in the league and the Peace Cup, two tournaments whose winners are guaranteed tickets in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup respectively.
Rwatubyaye, who rejoined the Blues in August 2022 as a free agent after serving out his contract with Macedonian outfit FK Shkupi, admits it would be a total failure if the club doesn’t win a trophy this season.
"Of course, it would be a failure if we don’t win any titles this season,” the Rwanda international said.
"The league title looks complicated but there is still hope. If not, we will try to win the Peace Cup,” he further noted.
Rayon Sports will have to put in some magic to turn the table around to win the title just like they did when they came from 14 points behind APR to clinch the 2016/17.
