RWANDA are eager to maintain their perfect start at the on-going Cecafa Tusker Challenge Cup when they play Djibouti in their final Group A match this afternoon in Dar es Salaam.
Amavubi registered back to back wins in their opening two games against Tanzania (1-0) and Zimbabwe (2-0) and will fancy their chances against a Djibouti side that conceded five goals in their opening two games against Tanzania (3-0) and Zimbabwe (2-0).
In the build-up to the game, Amavubi coach Sredojevic Milutin Micho warned his side against complacence.
"We are through to the next stage (quarter-finals) but the job is not yet done. We have put ourselves in a good position and need to maintain that run,” the Serbian said.
"Djibouti lost their first two games but we should not forget that they created chances and results could have been different if they had taken those chances.”
Micho is likely to rest some players for this game and give the likes of Michel Rusheshangoga, Emery Bayisenge, Tumaine Ntamuhanga, Bokota Labama and Jerome Sina some playing time.
Micho’s opposite number Noureddine Gharzalli remained defiant ahead of the match insisting that his side can still upset the wasps.
"We were a bit unlucky in the first two games but I hope things will go our way against Rwanda,” he said.
Rwanda are chasing for their second Cecafa title. They last won the title in 1999.
