A while ago, Government floated a proposal to enhance air cargo operations in the country, a move that is set to substantially boost exports.

The country’s national carrier, RwandAir, has ambitious plans not only to enhance seat capacity, but also to increase cargo operations in the country. This will reduce logistics costs to make it easier for Rwandan companies to export products to different parts of the world.

Rwanda has the unique advantage of having a young and energetic work force which is generally multilingual. This advantage can effectively be utilised in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) business, which requires particular knowledge of the main business languages-English and French.

Likewise, Rwandan tea and coffee can definitely gain an entry into India as a unique and a premium product offering.

While Indian tea is world famous, there are those who dare to be different and would delight in serving Rwandan tea instead.

The Indian Merchants’ Chamber, a 105 year old premier Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the country would be happy to assist Rwandan companies in their foray into the Indian market. Our Chamber has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Rwanda Private Sector Federation (RPSF) and hence this collaboration would be a viable option.
