MUHANGA- The Mayor of Muhanga District believes the involvement of the Private Sector Federation (PSF) will boost the district’s development beyond the current 80 percent contribution. The agreement seeks to foster more cooperation in capacity building and business development, among other things.
Mutakwasuku said that 80 percent of the district’s development and growth is attributed to the private sector involvement in doing business, in the district.
"With this agreement, everything will be clearer and our development vision will be attained under a guided measure unlike in the past where everyone acted independently,” Mutakwasuku said.
The national vice president of PSF, François Rutayisire, noted that the agreement was timely and necessary to boost the role of the business community.
"This move will reduce chaos in the business sector and we will monitor the contribution of private sector with the help of the district. We would like to increase on advocacy and impact of business communities in the district” said Rutayisire.
The provincial Executive Secretary, Jeanne Izabiriza, officiated at the event, encouraged the business community to be more enthusiastic and competitive so as to create more jobs.
The chairman of PSF Muhanga, Silas Habimana, however, asked the federation to extend its activities to rural areas to create more impact on development in the district.
