I visited Kigali hotels with swimming pools a week ago to ascertain the most suitable one for my children. This is because I still harbour sad feelings about the young man who once drowned at a hotel pool in Kigali.

During my exploration, I realised that that there is still a lot more to be done. Some of the swimming pools in such establishments do not keenly abide by set safety measures. For instance, many of them do not have lifeguards.

It is, therefore, paramount that owners ensure that such establishments meet the standards and requirements to operate.
