BUGESERA — About 50 women, among them widows and genocide survivors, Monday started a three-day workshop on the impact of divisionism and ethnic hatred organized by Reconciliation Evangelism And Christian Healing [REACH]
According to organizers, the workshop is aimed at peace building and reconciliation among widows, genocide survivors and other women whose husbands are in jail for genocide in Bugesera district.

Rev. Philbert Kalisa, the founder and Director of REACH Rwanda said the workshop aims at fostering unity and reconciliation.

"We have decided to help these women morally by providing them with lessons concerning the background of genocide, impact, forgiveness and we call upon them to focus on the developmental issues other than wasting time in divisionism and ethnic hatred,” he said.

He sounded optimistic that the workshop would go a long way in uniting residents. Kalisa said that church and district leaders helped them to identify the women who needed moral and financial support.
