Hygiene is an important aspect of any Day Care Center, should have; this was said by Anita Tumusenge the director of Itetero Day Care Center at Kimihurura. While addressing the Children Times reporters.

Tumusime said that, children from the age of 3 months to 3 years are allergic to coldness, dirty water and dirty clothes.

"Parents and care takers are fond of neglecting the need to iron their babies clothes yet un ironed clothes contain germs which can carry certain disease into the children’s bodies”, said Tumusime.

While explaining the Importance of Day Care Centers, Tumusime said that they improve on the quality of care house keeps give children while their mothers are at work.

Day Care centers protect children from domestic violence and immoral behaviors which can spoil them.

Day care centers contribute to the education of children before going to their elementary schools; children also get good physical, psychological and intellectual development.

Itetero Crèche which started in 2006 is now accommodating 20 children from the age of 3 months to 3 years.
