With Fall and Winter trends leaning toward 40s glamour and elegant styles from classic eras gone by, high-waist pants have steadily made their way to the most fashionable closets this year. High-waist pants and jeans are a top pick this season.
When high waist pants made a comeback, most fashion critics discounted the trend, saying that this fashion suits women who are thin but not anyone with curves. Fortunately, this season, the style is more on the catwalk and the likes of Mary Kate Olsen and Fergie have been seen to don their high waist pants in style.
Other celebrities who have been seen to have a liking for the high waist pants are Kim Kardashian and Mischa Barton.
What is more interesting is the fact that this season the high waist pants are more flattering and stylish than the ones paraded on the catwalk back in 2007.
The recent high waist pants on the catwalks ranged from wide legged to skinny. Others were pleated and fully buttoned at the front, which allows the wearer to have a flattering full figure that best fits one’s body type.
In fact the advantage of high waist pants is that they actually fit better than low-rise jeans on most body types. The trick is to find pants that hit at your natural waist and hug your hips. From there, they can continue hugging for a skinny pant style or drop straight down for a wide leg style.
One of the rules of wearing high-waist pants is not to cover up the style! Wear a fitted top, tuck it in if necessary-Kim Kardashian tucked her blouse and she looked sensational in her high waist pants. Ruffled tops look great with this style as well.

Also do not pair flat shoes with high waisted pants, this will look too dull. Go for medium heels, peep toe or pencil heel pumps. If you don't want really high heels you can pick kitten heels which are very comfortable.
