When you check from statistics and other recoded notes from either the police or any other related authorities, you will be stunned by the reality that accidents in Rwanda, increase when there are rains in the country.

Can the experts in the country tell us why this happens, so that we know how to deal with this kind of abnormality? Our layman’s knowledge tells us that the main problem comes from the fact that our drivers are too poor to drive on a slippery road. The drivers we have seem not to be having the smallest notions on the principle of friction.

They thus drive as if water does not have any impact on friction which is one of the things you must consider when zooming your car.

We therefore, urgently need a Ngando type of approach, in sensitizing drivers on how to drive on slippery roads. We again call upon the police to be very vigilant, when it rains and not run to take shelter in houses for fear of rain drops. Rain or no rain, a police man on duty should remain in control of traffic. These ignorant drivers take advantage of rain and drive at the highest speed possible because they are sure of not meeting any police traffic on the way. And indeed they do not find any!

The in charges of the traffic country wide, are therefore, called to take this observation seriously and stop the increased ‘rain born accidents’ that are claiming life all the time.
