Etincelles extend lead

ETINCELLES maintained their lead at the top of the Primus league table after yesterday’s 1-all draw against APR at Nyamirambo stadium.

The Western Province side took the lead on the 50th minute through Udaru Mudahemukwa whose set-piece beat Jean Claude Ndoli in goal.

After wasting several goal scoring opportunities, the military side finally equalised on the 60th minute courtesy of a superb volley from Burundian international Selemani Ndikumana.

Fifteen minutes from time, Etincelles felt robbed when Abedi Mulenda’s effort was ruled out for offside.

The draw kept Etincelles top of the league table with 15 points, one ahead of the champions.

Elsewhere, AS Kigali finally bagged their first win of the season after a 1-0 victory over SC Kiyovu at Mumena stadium. Bodo Ndikumana scored the winner mid-way through the second half. The win moved AS Kigali to ninth place with five points.

Mukura also climbed to third place with 14 points after a hard earned 1-0 win over Amagaju in Huye.

Gad Mwizerwa scored the goal three minutes from time. Action to continues today with La Jeunesse entertaining Police at Kigali Regional stadium and Rayon Sport hosting Espoir at Mumena stadium.

Nyanza play away to Marines at Umuganda stadium.
