As the country continues to register progress in all sectors, methane gas extraction will increase Rwanda’s power capacity and lower the cost of electricity in the long run.

Like many Rwandans, I can’t wait to see our country realize this Methane gas extraction dream, which we have waited for so long.

Currently, our domestic power comes from hydro, solar energy and diesel-fired energy which is not enough to support our industries.

The methane extraction is a positive development towards achieving our long awaited dream of lowering the cost of the energy.  Once the extraction kicks off, the gas will help increase the much needed electricity to boost development.
