The issuance of new machine readable travel document is a good initiative that will help business operators, who normally travel to different regional countries to spend lesser time at the borders as it would only require to be scanned using a computer unlike the preceding hectic process.

The new laisser passer would also enable us to travel to Southern Sudan.

Though the new Laisser passer will cost Rwf10,000 up from the previous Rwf, 3000, I am certain it will be still within our means. Besides, it will last for two years, instead of a previous one year.

The Directorate General of Immigration and Emigration should keep up the good work.
