Cyclists embark on Tour of Rwanda preps
AFTER a disappointing performance in the just ended Africa Continental Cycling Championship in Eritrea, Team Rwanda coach Jonathan Boyer concedes that there is a lot of work to be done ahead of the Tour of Rwanda. The riders struggled to match their Eritrean counterparts in Asmara. Not even Adrien Niyonshuti could master a top-ten finish. The South African based rider finished a distant 16th while rookie Joseph Bizimuremyi and Nicodem Habiyambere tied in 27th place.

The riders struggled to match their Eritrean counterparts in Asmara.
Not even Adrien Niyonshuti could master a top-ten finish. The South African based rider finished a distant 16th while rookie Joseph Bizimuremyi and Nicodem Habiyambere tied in 27th place.
Gasore Hategeka and Nathan Byukusenge finished 28th and 36th respectively.
Eritrea’s Natnael Berhane dethroned fellow compatriot Daniel Telklehaminot to win this year’s race.
The hosts also retained their position as the top cycling nation on the continent.
