What better news could I read in yesterday’s The Sunday Times than that of one of India’s largest hospital groups venturing into Rwanda? 

Kudos to Dr. K. Hari Prasad , Chief Executive , Apollo Hospitals , Central Region, and the Ministry of Health for having signed a Memorandum of Understanding ( MOU ) for the setting up of a super speciality hospital in the country. 

This medical facility will not only mitigate the suffering of people in the country , but will also serve as a hub for patients in neighbouring countries who may want to draw on the expertise of the doctors and specialists who will be based in Rwanda. 

It’s good news to see that the Government of Rwanda is always concerned about its citizens. This is yet another initiative to show the great importance attached to health care in the country. 

I wish the Apollo Group of Hospitals every success in their foray into Rwanda, which will soon see many millions smiling!
