TWO Rwandan referees will undergo a week long seminar and testing in Tanzania ahead of this year’s Tusker Challenge Cup. Hudu Munyemana and Gervais Munyanziza are part of a 19-man list of elite referees who have been shortlisted for the tournament which will run from November 25 to December 10 in Dar es Salaam.

Hudu Munyemana and Gervais Munyanziza are part of a 19-man list of elite referees who have been shortlisted for the tournament which will run from November 25 to December 10 in Dar es Salaam.
On top of the seminar, they will also undergo physical testing.
Other center referees include Dennis Batte (Uganda), Bamlak Tessema (Ethiopia), Davis Omweno (Kenya), Wish Yabarow (Somalia), Israel Mujuni (Tanzania) and Eric Gasinzigwa (Burundi).
Hassan Yacin Egueh (Djibouti), Clemence Erasmo (Tanzania), Idam Mohamed Hamid (Sudan), Juma Ali Kombo (Zanzibar), Hamis Changwalu (Tanzania), Yohanes Girmai (Eritrea), Brazan Mamati (Kenya), David Sagero (Kenya) and Mark Sonko (Uganda) make up the assistant referees’ list. Amavubi are drawn in Group A against defending champions Tanzania, Ethiopia and Djibouti; Uganda, Burundi, Somalia and Zanzibar make up Group B while Group C pits Kenya against Sudan, Eritrea and Malawi (guest side). After the group stage, the top two along with the best two third-placed teams will progress to the quarter-finals.
Tanzania lifted last year’s title after beating Ivory Coast 1-0 in the final.
