Rwanda vs Eritrea
SEVERAL Amavubi players failed to impress during Friday’s unsatisfactory 1-all draw with Eritrea and it is very likely that Sredejovic Milutin Micho will make changes for Tuesday’s 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier’s return leg in Kigali.
The Serbian has summoned the Police duo of Evariste Mutuyimana and Jacque Tuyisenge, SEC Academy’s Solomon Nirisarike, Proline’s Charles Tibingana and Rayon Sport’s Abouba Sibomana.
In particular, Tuyisenge and Tibingana will fancy their chances of playing a part in the return leg after the first leg proved that the team needs to be more offensive.
"In the first leg, we were lacking when it came to going forward and when we did, we failed to take our chances,” Micho pointed out.
Elias Uzamukunda a.k.a Baby saved Amavubi’s blushes on Friday. The AS Cannes striker came off the bench to equalize for the wasps on the 54th minute.
Tesfalem Tekle had given the Red Sea Boys a first-half lead in front of a capacity crowd at Cicero stadium in Asmara following a defensive blunder from Amavubi’s center-backs.
Baby’s equalizer was a big relief for Micho who responded by repeatedly punching in the air before embracing his coaching staff.
Rwanda now needs a win or goalless draw to progress to the group stage.
