Canadian-based Rwandan Mighty Popo will perform at Ishyo Arts Centre, Kacyiru in Kigali, this Sunday.

The show starts at 7pm and the entrance fee will be Rwf2,000.

Author, composer, singer and guitarist, ,Mighty Popo, who lives in Ottawa, has inherited a  strong love for Rwandan and Burundian traditional music. He also has a lifelong connection with Rock and Roll, Blues, Jazz, R&B, Reggae and folk traditions.

His music reflects his immersion in a world culture which he has navigated with grace, sensitivity and an enormous sense of exploration and fun enriched by many traditions. It is authentically his. 

In 2007, Mighty Popo won the Canadian Folk Music Award for his album ‘Muhazi’ in the category of "Best Folk Artist".
