RUSIZI — Victims of the February earthquake in Rusizi district have received an assortment of clothes from The New Times (TNT) Publications.

Stevenson Mugisha the paper’s Bureau Chief in Rusizi and Nyamasheke districts, handed over the items to the district Mayor, Jean Pierre Turatsinze, at his offices in Kamembe sector on Friday.

"TNT staff felt the plight of the earthquake victims in Rusizi district and that is why they decided to donate some clothes to them,” Mugisha said.

Receiving the items, Mayor Turatsinze applauded TNT for their support and urged continued relationship and love.

"On behalf of the district I thank you very much for having donated such essential items to our fellow residents who were affected by the earthquake. I appeal to you to continue the love and relationship you have exhibited,” Turatsinze said.

The items included women and men’s wear including shoes to be given to those who were severely affected in Nkanka and Nkombi sectors, according to Turatsinze.
