RWANDA’S top professional golfer Emmanuel Ruterana targets the top two positions in this year’s Rwanda Golf Open, which gets underway on November 24 at Kigali Club course.

Ruterana said yesterday: "I am currently in preparations. I train on a daily basis and  want to leave a mark in this competition.”

"Last year, I finished third but, this year, it is possible to win the title. My target is to be among the top two,” added the player, who became the first Rwanda golfer to turn professional.

Last year’s event was won by Kenya’s Indiza with Jean Baptiste Hakizimana settling  for second position ahead of his rivals and friend Ruterana, who finished third.

Golfers from Kenya, Uganda, Burundi and the hosts Rwanda will be battling it out in the 54-hole three-day tourney.
