Editor,

I commend Free The Children, a Canadian organisation, for denying Paul Rusesabagina a platform to tell more lies to the world.

The pressure mounted by the members of Toronto’s Rwandan community who called on the federal government of Canada to deny Rusesabagina’s entry into the country worked wonders.

Following the pressure, Rusesabagina cancelled his visit to Winnipeg where he was scheduled to join former U.S. vice-president Al Gore and other dignitaries for a youth forum on human rights. Resesabagina does not deserve to join the group because he portrays himself as a savior yet he is not.

We are tired of his false claims as he traverses the world claiming that he saved the lives of more than 1,000 Tutsi refugees who had taken refugee at Hotel des Mille Collines.

The Genocide survivors who were present at the hotel, at the time, have also refuted his claims.
