It was a fun-filled experience. And a great way to end the month of March, with classic performances by East Africa’s big talents, Wrye, Daddy Andre, Levixone and Alyn Sano, at the Kigali Conference and Exhibition Village.
With such a line-up waiting to entertain revelers who were looking forward to having a good time, the artistes did not disappoint. They did a great job - giving the crowd one beautiful performance after another.
The show kicked off with the Shauku Band to bring the crowd into the party mood. It didn’t take long before Rwanda’s Alyn Sano came on stage, beaming with smiles. The crowd went wild.
She started off with a sneak peek into her upcoming album by singing one of her new songs, Rumuri.
"As a young woman who strives everyday for a better future, I meet so many challenges that want to stop me from achieving my dreams. But I choose not to give up because there is a light in me that shines within and gives light to others,” she said.
Alyn sang most of her famous songs including ‘Radio’, ‘ Fake Gee’, ‘For us’ and ‘ say less’.
Coming up on stage, Levixone brought gospel music spirit to the crowd.
The fans praised and worshiped during the performance.
The gospel singer did not just sing from the stage. He went to the audience, to sing with them. And they showed him so much love.
Singing some of his songs ‘ Turn the replay’, ‘ Enjoy yo blessings’, ‘ mbeera’, ‘ More blessings’ and ‘Chikibombe’, the crowd sang along with him, song after song, in much excitement. Levixone paused time to time and shared the word of God with the audience. The applause was deafening.
At 10:15, Uganda’s singer and producer, Daddy Andre, was welcomed on stage. He came up singing one of his famous songs, ‘ Sikikukweeka’, and fans again went wild. The song which is his most liked hit by Rwandans was a dream come true for revelers who had been waiting to see him perform.
With so much energy, he then sang ‘Andele’ to the crowd that was already out of their seats dancing along with him. Before he could perform his other famous song, ‘ Tugende mu church,’ featuring Levixone, he said that it all ends in church. That is why, he teased, he wanted to sing that song for the fans who had come to support him. Their performance was amazing and they left fans yearning for more.
At midnight, Kenya’s Wrye graced the stage as fans had been eagerly waiting for his performance. The RnB and Reggae artiste who had not performed in Rwanda for a long time delivered an amazing live performance.
With ‘ Kingston girl’, ‘ Sina makosa’ and ‘ Nakupenda pia’ among many of the songs that thrilled the crowd, he danced along with Wyre who also gave dance lessons to the fans.
