The announcement of the death of Philippe Kanamugire, one of the founders of Inteko Izirikana Association was indeed depressing.  Mzee Kanamugire will not only be missed by friends and relatives  but by all Rwandans. He was objective, selfless, friendly and sociable.

Many people were struck by how down-to-earth Mzee Kanamugire was and his great sense of humour. He was open and always chose his words careful. As a cultural guru, he lived a responsible life, always committed to teach Rwandans about their culture.

We have had a turbulent history and many us grew up without knowing the values of our culture. In mourning Mzee Kanamugire, we celebrate the good things he has brought to our lives; his friendship, his brilliance and his sense of justice. May God rest his sould in eternal peace.
