Members of the Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF) in Gasabo District, over the weekend, vowed to play a key role in helping the country accomplish the next level of development through the execution of various strategies and mechanisms. They made the resolve during their monthly meeting that took place at Kinyinya Sector, Gasabo District.

The RPF Chairman in the district, Willy Ndizeye, who presided over the meeting, requested fellow party members to take part in all developmental activities, saying that it would transform people’s wellbeing countrywide.
"As you well know, RPF is the engine of this country in various developmental activities. I, therefore, call upon members in this district to always play an exemplary role because this will help our nation continue to grow economically, socially and politically,” Ndizeye appealed.
He also requested them to join their efforts towards improving the living conditions of the vulnerable in the country, especially Genocide survivors and historically marginalised communities.
Participants also discussed means to increase agricultural production in the district and sensitisation of residents to embrace a saving culture to receive loans from Umurenge Sacco.
Ndizeye, who also doubles as the district mayor, asked those present to encourage residents to enlist for the communal medical insurance cover, Mutuelle de Sante.
In an interview, Ndizeye said that all 15 sectors in the district had increased deposits in Umurenge Sacco, citing Remera Sector, which has so far raised over Rwf 40 million.
He cited the remaining challenge as poor mobilisation of party members at community and cell levels, which he emphasised, should be the focus.
Deborah Mukamana of Gisozi Sector, said that RPF members in the area set up a committee which, every week, sensitises residents on several issues such as family planning and how to easily fight against malnutrition.
Jean Claude Muhire from Rutunga Sector, said RPF members within the sector had donated over 100 cows to the needy, adding that similar initiatives would follow.
