Cardinal Antoine Kambanda has urged the faithful in Rwanda to pray for Pope Francis as he recovers from a respiratory infection. The Cardinal shared a message of prayer for the Pope on Twitter, stating that the pontiff's health is improving as he remains in the hospital for treatment.

He also asked for the intercession of Our Lady of Kibeho, Mother of the Word. The Pope is expected to be discharged from the hospital on Saturday and will participate in a Palm Sunday Mass service in St Peter's Square.

Vatican spokesman Matteo Bruni confirmed that the Pope had been given antibiotics to treat infectious bronchitis during his hospital stay. Pope Francis has had several health problems in recent years, including diverticulitis, for which he had surgery in 2021.
The 86-year-old pontiff was admitted in hospital on Wednesday for a respiratory infection.
