Questions have been raised on whether the now controversial Rukarara Hydro Power project changed hands in a transparent manner.

It is important that Members of Parliament get to the root of cause of the problem, as we are keen to know whether the tendering process of the project was transparent, and whether the government got a good deal.

It appears that there are some projects channeled to private companies without following the standard tendering procedures.

If Rukarara was put under private management, let there be proof that normal bidding procedurs were respected. The MPs’ inquiry should answer these questions, and I fully support them in trying to get to the bottom of this matter.
