AMAVUBI received a huge boost following the arrival of Andrew Buteera and Charles Tibingana. The Proline Academy pair jetted in on Wednesday before taking part in the team’s afternoon training session at Kicukiro.
New Amavubi coach Sredojevic Milutin Micho also welcomed DRC’s Motema Pembe defender Kalisa Mao ahead of next Friday’s 2014 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Eritrea.
Other professionals expected include AS Lupopo striker Dady Birori, Haruna Niyonzima of Yanga FC and Elias Uzamukunda, who plies his trade in France with French second division side AS Cannes.
Micho, who took over from Eric Nshimiyimana on Monday, will have his first real test next Friday when the wasps take on Eritrea in Asmara. The second leg will be played in Kigali four days later.
After the two-legged qualifier, the Serbian will focus on the Tusker Cecafa Challenge Cup, which is slated to run from November 23 to December 10.
That said, Micho’s main tasks are to qualify Rwanda to the 2013 Nations Cup as well as 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.
The 42-year-old already expects a tough challenge against Nigeria who stand in Rwanda’s way.
"Wounded lions are usually the most dangerous,” Micho told MTNFootball.com in reference to the Super Eagles’ shocking failure to qualify for the 2012 Nations Cup which will be jointly hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
Rwanda’s only appearance in the Nations Cup came back in 2004, under the tutelage of Ratomir Djukovic.
The country is yet to feature in a Fifa World Cup.
