I am writing to request the Ministry of Public Service and Labour to verify claims that some employees in government ministries and local governments may have got jobs without going through proper recruitment procedures.

In some cases, it has been claimed that jobs get advertised but no interviews are held, despite people having applied. The applicants only realise later that some people had been hired even when they were not among those who applied for the jobs!

It appears that some agencies simply advertise jobs for formality, when they have already identified the people to occupy the positions.

I suggest that a verification team go around the country on a fact-finding mission to ascertain whether these claims are credible. There is  no smoke without fire!
