As a way of developing the game of cricket in the country, the National Cricket Association (RCA) has organized a two day cricket clinic to furnish sports journalists with more knowledge of the game.

According to the RCA president Charles Haba, the initiative is aimed at equipping local sports journalists in both print and broadcast with the necessary information about the game in a bid to report from an informed stand.

"As key stakeholders of the ‘Gentleman’s game’, the media should be supported to remain at the fore front of cricket development in Rwanda,” Haba said yesterday.

The clinic is scheduled November 9-10 and will involve both theoretical and practical lessons.

The practical lessons will involve the journalists playing a short game with the guidance of Rwanda Cricket Association officials.

Cricket is one of the fast developing games in the country, just 10 years since its inception and has a league comprised of nine clubs and a host of tournaments played throughout the year from youth to senior levels including in schools.
