The decision to leave Country Records and join 1:55am Entertainment was not sparked by tension, but rather a personal move for progress, producer Element has said.

The young producer who is considered one of the best in the country said this during a discussion on his music career on ‘Freak Friday’, a weekly radio show hosted by Zuba Mutesi and Brenda Mackenzie on Power FM.

"In Kinyarwanda, there is a saying translated as ‘if a bird does not fly, it goes to bed hungry’. I moved to 1:55am to change the environment and work with new people. I have no problem with my former management line,” Element said.

The ‘Kashe’ hit maker further denied different rumours that he left Country Records after falling out with the founder and owner of the record label, Noopja.

"I now belong to 1:55am but my intentions are still the same. I want to push Rwandan music as far as possible,” Element noted.

Element, real name Fred Robinson Mugisha, is credited for producing some of the hits that boosted Rwanda’s music industry, which is why he remains a big deal for studios and record labels in the country.

On January 8, 2023, news circulated that the producer known by his tag ‘ELEEH’, had parted ways with Country Records.

The youngster who rose to eminence in 2020 had joined the music house that the same year, after producing dozens of hits, he got another deal with 1:55am’s management early this year.
