"Even if I’ve covered the topics as thoroughly as I could have done, I’m still anxious that I’m going to forget or that there’ll be questions on the exam paper that are so different from what I’ve been learning,” says 17-year-old Agnes Rwema.
Reality is that when tense, our mind gets worked up, however, some people know how to use that tremendous energy positively.
When the time for exams comes, students need to stay calm and avoid talking about exams with fellow students before and after sitting for their papers. This only aggravates those who think they did not write the correct answers—it only leads to worry.
Rest the night before a final exam, you need sleep for your mind to comprehend and answers to complex questions. Make sure you arrive for your exams well rested.
Breathe deep and easily. Deep breathing offers an easy method of reducing stress. Simply close your eyes, relax your body, breathe in slowly through your nose and exhale through your mouth. Repeat until you feel calm. This works just before the actual exam. Try it in your seat instead of cramming!
Carry a watch so that you can keep track of the time while you are writing your exam.Once you are finished with the exam do something good for yourself. This will help you stop worrying about the exam and your performance. In addition, remember it is just an exam at the end of the day so, do not base your worth on the exam and its results.
