Rwanda police, Interpol search for stolen vehicles
KIGALI - Officers from the Rwandan police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the traffic police unit, in collaboration with agents from International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) have launched a joint nationwide exercise aimed at seizing cars brought in the country through theft.

KIGALI - Officers from the Rwandan police’s Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the traffic police unit, in collaboration with agents from International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) have launched a joint nationwide exercise aimed at seizing cars brought in the country through theft.
Several vehicles are reported to have already been impounded, while some genuine car owners have already been issued with clearance notes bearing an Interpol stamp.
Officers are conducting a thorough checking of vehicles’ engine numbers, chassis numbers, among others.
Sources said the operation had started with big vehicles.
