Editor,I totally concur with a story published in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled “Rwanda’s cultural heritage huge and untapped”. Indeed, our museums throughout the country have huge potential. One of the means to attract more visitors, domestically and internationally, is to draw a new strategy that brings together all aspects of our rich traditional culture and then revamp all the museums to benefit from the sector.
Editor,
I totally concur with a story published in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled "Rwanda’s cultural heritage huge and untapped”. Indeed, our museums throughout the country have huge potential.
One of the means to attract more visitors, domestically and internationally, is to draw a new strategy that brings together all aspects of our rich traditional culture and then revamp all the museums to benefit from the sector.
Of course, nothing can be done without money. In order to do all these, the Government should put aside an annual budget for the national museums.
I was in Nyanza recently and saw many historical sites which preserve our cultural values. Many tourists I found there said they were proud of this beautiful country and its unique historical sites.
They talk about things like the uniqueness of Rwandan music, dance and the fact that we have kept our language intact. There is need for protection of historical sites and preserve every aspect that indentifies us as Rwandans.
