The marathoner has now turned her attention to January’s Dubai Marathon in order to qualify for next year’s London Olympic Games.
"The leg feels good and I have started light training. I have a few months to prepare for the Dubai Marathon and I’m still optimistic that I will qualify for the London Games,” she said.
Two athletes have so far qualified for the Games; Hermas Cliff Muvunyi and Adrien Niyonshuti (cycling).
Muvunyi qualified after winning gold in the 2011 All Africa Games. The athlete won the 400m T46 race to qualify for the Paralympics while Niyonshuti’s fourth spot finish in the UCI African Continental Cross Country Mountain Bike Championships was enough to seal his slot in London.
