A Kigali-based church New Life Bible Church will host the seventh edition of a Women’s Conference in Kigali that brings together women from around the country to share business experiences and the word of God.
The three-day event under the theme: "Women You Are Valuable”, will be held at Dream Centre/ New Life Bible Church in Kicukiro, from 3 p.m -7 p.m daily.
The conference will feature musical events, craft exhibitions and a fashion show, to celebrate fashion and the exciting future of a woman.
Speaking at the press conference, Pastor Florence Mugisha, the founder of New Life Bible Church together with her husband Pastor Charles Mugisha Buregeya, said that the workshop would encourage women and girls to play a role in poverty eradication and know God.
"The conference will also assess if the women we support are participating in business after the integration,” Pastor Mugisha said.
According to the organisers, the closing day will be open to everyone, men inclusive, with free transport from 2 p.m at the following venues: Prince House, SONTAUBES, and Kicukiro Centre.
Pastor Fred Isaac Katagwa, the Executive Director of Africa New Life Ministries – Rwanda, noted that the women’s conference will be held in preparation for the initial implementation of the business diagnostics project.
"We are here to identify why women businesses do not grow and remain small and medium enterprises and micro businesses for long. The objective of the business diagnostics project was to find out how New Life Bible Church can help women to grow their businesses,” Pastor Katagwa said.
Established in 2004, New Life Bible Church exists as a duly registered legal entity. Its vision is ‘transforming and lives through proclaiming the Gospel of Jesus Christ and Acts of Compassion’.
The Church equips women with tailoring skills. At present, it is at its latter stages of initiating a beauty academy. Each year, 70 needy women are offered tailoring, discipleship and social skills to enable them to improve their welfare, as well as contribute to national development.
New Life Bible Church also supports needy children, especially orphans by providing them with tuition, scholastic materials, health care, spiritual nourishment, uniforms, shoes, and in some cases food.
Every year, 70 women are registered at the New Life Bible Church, where they are trained in tailoring. This helps them to contribute meaningfully to their family incomes and become equal partners rather than dependents.
The women also undergo a discipleship programme while a number of them are introduced to the love and hope filled teachings of the Bible. Their spiritual lives are subsequently built up.
