Computers in schools will enhance computer literacy among our children. The New Times File.

Editor,

This letter is with reference to Stevenson Mugisha’s article that appeared in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled: "Mineduc donates 570 computers to TTCs.”

The Ministry of Education’s focus on ICT is commendable and the initiative of the Rwanda Education Board (REB) in donating 570 desktop computers to the 11 Teacher Training Colleges ( TTCs) in the country , will surely enhance computer literacy among the youth.

The Government has always stressed the need for ICT education. The advantages of information technology are well documented and put into practice by various agencies like the Immigration department, where one can apply for a visa online in addition to the Rwanda Development Board where one can register a business from anywhere in the world through its website.

Generally, information technology will go a long way in enhancing the quality of education in this country.
