Former Amavubi coach Sellas Tetteh made several unsuccessful attempts to lure the striker to the Wasps. There are now fresh reports that Rwanda’s U-20 coach Richard Tardy is going to try his luck with the player who played for France at the U-18 and U-19 level.
Paquet burst onto the scene in 2008 when he scored Lens’ winner in a 2-1 victory over Valenciennes. He also made five appearances for Lens in the Europa League.
With the 2014 World Cup qualifiers round the corner, Amavubi can use his experience and sharpness in front of goal.
Rwanda open their qualifying campaign with a double-legged tie against Eritrea. The winner will seal their final slot in Group H which also has Algeria, Benin and Mali.
