Utexrwa, Rwanda’s only textile producing company, has procured a $120,000 state of the art Jet dyeing machine and ancillary equipment that will enhance the dyeing capacity of the company.

Speaking to Sunday Times, Kishor Jobanpuntra, Chairman of Utexrwa, said that the new machine will address the dyeing quality issues related to supplies especially for the Armed Forces.

"With this equipment, we shall be able to respond to the market needs in the country,” he noted.

Jobanpuntra mentioned that the shareholders are determined to turn-around the company so that it realizes its full potential.

He further mentioned that, in this effort, the shareholders are not alone. He said the government of Rwanda has been supportive.

"Shareholders are pleased with this development and only look forward to working closely
with government to realize their dreams,” he said.

Utexrwa is currently undergoing major re-organisation at management and investment level that started in December 2010.

The new investment of over US$ 1 million has been injected to revive the plant, helping in the settlement of suppliers’ credit, payment of workers and sourcing of raw materials that had been depleted.
