Rayon Sports will be without their star striker Bokota Labama when they face archrivals and defending champion APR this afternoon at Amhoro stadium in what is by far the biggest game of the season.

By press time, the Blues were still in talks with DRC DC Motema Pemba to release an ordinary ITC to enable them to convince Ferwafa allow Bokota feature in today’s match but for them to do so they needed close to $15000 for the deal to materialize.

Club secretary general Olivier Gakwaya said, "They have made it impossible for us. We are ready to pay the money but we needed it to go to the club instead of a single person as they have requested.”

"We requested them to write a letter confirming to us whether the money could be sent to the mentioned person but until now, we have not got any response,” added Gakwaya.
Rayon have already lost once to La Jeunesse this season and will be aiming to close the gap on the league leaders, who are looking stronger  than ever in recent seasons.

Rayon coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira said yesterday, "We are ready for the derby. It is a tough game for both teams but I am optimistic that we will win.”
His counterpart of APR Ernie Brandts acknowledges that today’s match is the biggest test for his team.

"It is going to be an interesting game. Our aim is to win every single game of this season and this is our target too as we face Rayon on Sunday,” said the Dutchman.

Rayon sit on third position with nine points, three points behind today’s opponents.

APR, who will be without suspended right back Albert Ngabo, boost the top marksmen in the league in skipper Olivier Karekezi and Kabange Twite who have scored four and three goals respectively.

This will be the 35th clash between both clubs. APR has won 12 of those matches while Rayon has won ten. 13 matches have been draws.
