APR women basketball head coach Charles Mbazumutima has warned rivals that the race for the women’s national basketball league is still open.
Defending champions Rwanda Energy Group (REG) are top of the table with 8 points and are level on points with second-placed APR while IPRC-Huye and GS Gahini come third and fourth respectively with 6 points each.
Based on the current standings, Mbazumutima expressed his confidence in his women that they can fight for the top prize till the last minute.
"We are still in the title race at this stage; we are doing everything possible to stay close to the leaders,” he told Times Sport.
"The ultimate target is the league title and the season still has a long way to go,” he added.
APR women return to league action on Saturday, April 1, when they lock horns with REG, hoping that a victory would see them leapfrog them to move top of the league table.
