MUHANGA -  The Catholic Institute of Kabgayi (ICK) will from next month start offering courses in economics, public relations and environment management, the Rector, Fr. Vincent Kagabo, has announced.

Kagabo made the remarks Friday at the ICK main campus in Muhanga during a workshop to validate new department modules.

The three-year courses will be supplementary departments to the already existing faculties of social and economic sciences; sciences of development and Journalism and communication studies.

"The new courses are highly needed and will address the crosscutting issues of the community today and reinforce the existing faculties,” Kagabo said.

The new courses will start in mid November this year. Registration for the courses is open to new and first year students.

Claudette Kayitesi, a third year development sciences student, said the new courses were relevant and will enable students to compete on the job market and address social and economic issues that affect the community.
