Editor,
I was delighted to read your lead story in yesterday’s issues of The New Times titled "World Bank team on learning visit.”
The very fact that a renowned institution like the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a subsidiary of the World Bank, has sent a 28 member high-powered delegation to Rwanda clearly demonstrates that President Paul Kagame is a leader par excellence!
There could be no better endorsement for Rwanda, under the able guidance and leadership of President Kagame, than having IFC choose to visit this great nation and learn about leadership, for its prestigious corporate management programme.
The enormous progress made, is all the more laudable considering the miserable state of the country after the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. This only goes to show that no situation is hopeless and no problem is insurmountable.
That is the case if one has the grit and determination that President Kagame, his Cabinet and the people of Rwanda had in order to make things happen.
I wish Georgina Baker, a director at IFC, and her delegation every success with their engagement in Rwanda as well as their proposed investments in the finance, infrastructure, housing and education sectors, so as to boost private sector growth in the country.
