Hundreds of Lillian Kabaganza fans, last Sunday, converged at Kigali Serena Hotel to witness the launch of her debut album.

Dubbed ‘Mfitanyibanga ni Imana’, the gospel artiste has been working on her thirteen-track album for two years.

The concert started at 5 p.m, with various performances from church choirs and sole gospel artistes such as Patient Bizima, Gaby Kamanzi, Dominic Nic and Jean Samputu, among others.

Kabaganza claimed the stage at around 6 p.m and performed three of her favourite tracks ‘Ubuzima’, ‘Kuva nkumenye’ and ‘Iyo ntekereje.’

She was a initially a member of Rehoboth Ministries choir that was by then attached to Restoration Church, but Kabaganza quit the group in 2009 to start a sole career.

Kabaganza told The New Times that the concert was a starting point to take her sole career to another level.

"I am so excited and happy to see that my launch has attracted as many as you can see. It is hard to believe but honestly, it has happened. This means a lot to me and a challenge as well, to see that I do not disappoint them, but work so hard to always bring something new,” Kabaganza said.

She noted that apart from performing live in Kigali, she plans to perform even in other provinces, starting with Nyagatare, Gesenyi and Butare and beyond borders. "I have already been invited to perform in Kenya and if things go as planed, I will be doing it early next year,” she said.

During the event, chief guest Apostle Joshua Masasu, the Senior Pastor of Restoration Church in Rwanda, led a prayer and a fundraising to solicit funds to support Kabaganza’s music career.
