The Chief Executive Officer of the Private Sector Federation, Rogers Munyampenda, has resigned weeks before the federation is due to be restructured
According Faustin Mbundu, the chairman of PSF,  the CEO tendered in his resignation on October 10, after serving as the federations’ top boss for one year.

"He expressed his wish to resign to pursue another career somewhere else,” the chairman told Business Times yesterday.

Mbundu added, "Basing on the restructuring and what is going on and because he thought he did not have a lot of time with us (PSF), he might have opted to have the new team start with a new CEO”.

He noted that the new restructuring, scheduled for next month,  will see the creation of a new position of Chief of Operations and streamlining of the Chief of Advocacy and Chief of Finance whose roles have not been clearly stipulated.

"We are consolidating key pillars of the federation to see how we can put them together,” he said, adding that the position of the CEO together with all other vacant positions will be advertised by mid next month.
Munyampenda told Business Times that he resigned for personal reasons.

He noted that during his tenure, he managed to organise the elections of PSF structures from grassroots to the national level and also oversaw the elections of the first PSF board.

"We managed to renew some visibility of PSF for advocacy purpose and renew dialogue and contacts with donors and public institutions on behalf of the business community”, he said.

The next chief executive will also have the challenge of matching the success of this year’s trade exhibition. The expo hit a landmark in PSF’s history, registuring an increase in trade and exhibitors both foreign and local.
