He is young; he is ambitious; he is Pierre Kayitana, one of the distinctive film producers in Rwanda’s budding film industry. Kayitana is famous for his role as the President of the Rwanda Cinema Center (RCC), the driving organ for the local movie industry. RCC was founded by Eric Kabera. He was part of the crew that filmed some of the Rwanda’s famous movies such as; “Shake hands with the Devil” by Roger Spottiswoode who also directed the 1990’s movie, “Tomorrow never Dies”.

The soft spoken producer is currently an Ambassador of the film charity "Films Without Borders” based in the United Kingdom. Through this charity, he has worked with personalities such as African-American actress, Whoopi Goldberg as well as famous producer George Lucas, of Indiana Jones.
Acquiring basics in computer technology at a tender age, Kayitana worked in the ICT profession, which over the years paved his way to the film industry.
Kayitana has also coordinated the "Pangae Day” (film event) in Rwanda and worked on the sidelines of some of the world’s entertainment big names like Alicia Keys, and Robert De Niro at the Robert De Niro Tribecca Film Festival New York.
Kayitana has proudly established his own studios, ‘Rwanda Film Headquarters Ltd’ and he says that he is busy completing two movie projects.
