ETINCELLES FC climbed to the top of the Primus League table standings after overcoming archrivals Marines in the Rubavu derby with 2-0 victory yesterday at Umuganda stadium.

Ugandan born Silver Ochaya strike netted a brace to send Etincelles at the top of the table with ten points, one ahead of both Rayon and the champions APR. However, the pair has a chance to move two points clear at the top with wins in today’s action.

Title pretenders Police were frustrated to a goalless draw away to Mukura, a result that dropped the law and order enforcers to fourth position with eight points.

New comers Espoir secured their first point of the season in four matches played after a one-all draw away to Nyanza in an all Southern Province affair.

Action continues this afternoon with AS Kigali hosting 12-time league winners APR at Amahoro stadium while La Jeunesse take on Rayon Sports at Nyamirambo stadium as Kiyovu entertains Amagaju at Mumena stadium.
