Editor,
This has reference to your article in yesterday’s issue of The New Times titled: "Construction of Rwanda Peace Academy commences.”
The Rwanda Peace Academy is a good initiative of the Governments of Rwanda and Japan. Both these countries, and so also many parts of our troubled world today, have paid a great price as a result of a breakdown in peace and security.
It is commendable to note that the Rwanda Peace Academy will also offer a Master’s Programme in Peace- Building and Post-Conflict Resilience, among many others. This underlines the seriousness of purpose with which the institution is being established.
The development is yet another testimony of the new Rwanda looking beyond the enhancement of trade and investments in the country and instead encompassing broader and vital issues of global significance.
Wishing the Rwanda Peace Academy every success in fostering peace and harmony not only in the East African region but throughout the world.
